I know that many of you have been to the Green Club (Ueno Park in Tokyo) where vendors setup during the annual Kokufu Bonsai Show. Well they also have auctions at this location and many of them are just for professionals in the business. Peter Tea attended the auction and was kind enough to snap a few photos for me to share with you.
The auction was held on Tuesday this week and Peter indicated the auction ran from 8:30am to 4:30pm! Can you imagine eight hours of watching things go on the block and being sold.
We are going to break this into two posts. The first on pots being auctioned and the second trees. Enjoy the show. Peter thanks again for the photos!
In the parking lot of the Green Club
Lots of Chinese Antique pots!
- How many would like to take that one home?
Note sure if this is the Green Club or Franks house!
- Two very expensive glazed pots on top of a huge suiseki.
A very nice suiseki.
I would love to see this in our home…
- A very deep doban.
A very deep doban.
An extremely old Chinese Antique pot.
I would bet that Peter liked this pot!
What our house would look like if KJ would let us…
Notice the delicate small stands. These are carved out of a single block of wood.
Didn’t someone take this pot home?
A few nice accent pots.
Tiny Antique Chinese pots – very expensive… Glad we weren’t there are we would be broke.
Suiban – the glaze appears to be water in the basin. I hate to ask how much.
Can you say patina anyone?
Up next trees and vans…Yes vans.
