KJ recently left working for Foursquare’s Northern California District and is now back to computer consulting. Sam works for Morgan Freeman and Lori McCreary’s film production company Revelations Entertainment in Santa Monica, CA.

James welcome to our blog. Tsukinowa Yusen pots can be purchased from Yorozuen.com. You can go to their web site at http://www.yorozuen.co.jp or contact directly Fukano Ayumu directly at ayumufukano@hotmail.com.
On the Yorozuen web site look for the links labeled 144 through 147 with 147 being the latest pots. His site currently doesn’t list any for sale. He updates his site about once per week. My guess is that he attempted to sell them at the 2009 Shohin Auction as Fujanao Aymumu was the auction director last year. When he posts a pot look for this chop mark 月之輪湧泉 on the bottom of the pot.

Joe you are quite welcome. I agree that information on Japanese pots in English is very hard to come by. If you don’t own this book yet, please do as soon as you can. It is one of the very few books on great Japanese and Chinese pots that is in both English and Japanese. http://bonsai.ocnk.net/product/19. I was on the trip to Kokufu in ’08’ with Boon’s group. You had mentioned putting together photos of the trip. Did anything ever come from that? I’m up in Seattle and don’t get all the news from BIB at least until the web blogs!

I have a large Edo period bronze doban for which I am seeking a stone of appropriate size. The doban is 27″ X 16.5″ X 1″. Ideally, I’m looking for a distant mountain stone or a doha or danseki. Two questions:
What size stone should I be looking for?
Any idea where I might find one?

Bruce and Teresa here. We are currently in Boise, Id. We ended a 5+ year run as church camp managers in the Redwoods of Southern Humboldt County last May. During that time I realized I had a problem with my love and fascination with rocks. Never as an idol. Always as an amazing creation of our Fathers. I accumulated many rocks and a couple of boulders. Sold some to pay other debts last Summer. Still have some beautiful examples of Jasper. Not sure of the real value, but was hoping you might have some idea. The 2 boulders are 200+ pounds and possibly 400+ pounds. The first is an excellent example of black and gold ( yellow ) jasper with qualities of agate with red and white veins. The second is white and light green jasper. Both so nice. The work you guys show is awesome. Let me know if you guys have any ideas you could pass on. I’d be glad to send pics of blue, orange, pink, white, black and imperial green jaspers that I was led to. Thanks, Bruce and Teresa
